ONGOING SAGA OF MANUAL C. CASS JR.
Monday, October 15, 2007, 09:23 PM
Greetings fellow advocates. This is the latest on Manual C. Cass, Jr., attempt to be released from State Prison. As you already know, if you are a disciple of Bayview Baptist Church, Manual was granted a parole date last September by the Parole Board. The Governor has 30 days from that hearing to either "grant parole", "deny parole", or take no action at all. The Governor chose to return to the "commital offense" and deny Mr. Cass his much deserved parole. The Parole Board allowed him to reapply in August of this year (not even a year since being denied)for a parole date. This time the Board chose not to grant Mr. Cass a parole. The problem with this process is, the commital offense will ALWAYS be the commital offense. That was 19 years ago. Mr. Cass has served more than enough time to be eligible for parole. He has served all of his time without any disciplinary action on his record. In fact he has been a model prisoner. Well, this last attempt opened the door for us to go to the State Court of Appeals. However, we will need assistance with attorney fees. PLEASE HELP US GET JUSTICE FOR THIS YOUNG MAN. SEND ANY AND ALL CONTRIBUTIONS TO: Sanders & Associates, 3960 Industrial Blvd. Ste 100, West Sacramento, CA 95691.

Once you have done that please email me with the amount of your contribution so we can have an accounting. We only need $3,000.00. The total cost is $7,000.00

THE CONTINUING SAGA OF MANUAL C. CASS JR.
Tuesday, January 30, 2007, 04:22 PM - News
Greetings to all,

My last posting indicated that Manual was going for a Parole hearing in August 2006. Praise be to God Manual was granted a parole by the Parole Board. We are shouting glory to God for his favor. We all expected to see Manual Jr. by Christmas, certainly by the beginning of 2007. For your information, each parole that is granted by the Board is subject to approval, denial or modification by the Governor. I am sad to say that the Governor reversed his parole and he is still in prison.

We need to pray for our next move and for the Governor and for our local Assistant District Attorney Richard Sachs. These men refuse to accept the unanimous decision of the Parole Board to grant parole based on their "feelings" rather than relying on the facts as presented by the Psychologist. They cite the violence of the offense. The violence of the offense will never change. It was violent 18 years ago and it is violent today. What they fail to realize is that Manual has changed. He is not the same 17 year-old today. If they persist in using that offense to deny him parole he will never be released. And, if that is the case then the Courts should not use the language "possiblity of parole".

To continue to keep Manual Cass in prison is cruel and unusal punishment. I will keep you posted on the progress in this episode of Manual C. Cass, Jr.

Thank you for your support.

PAROLE FOR MANUAL C. CASS, JR
Wednesday, July 5, 2006, 11:09 PM
ON AUGUST 10, 2006, MANUAL CASS WILL BE APPEARING BEFORE THE PAROLE BOARD PETITIONING FOR A RELEASE DATE. AS SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW, I HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATING WITH MANUAL FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND HAVE PROMISED TO SUPPORT HIS RELEASE. MANUAL HAS BEEN INCARCERATED FOR 18 YEARS FOR A MURDER HE COMITED WHEN HE WAS 17. MANUAL HAS SERVED HIS TIME WITHOUT ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS WHATSOEVER. HE HAS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT FOR CHRIST AND I THINK HE IS SUITABLE FOR RELEASE INTO OUR COMMUNITY.

I AM ASKING ALL OF YOU THAT WILL TO PRAY FOR HIS PAROLE BOARD HEARING. PRAY FOR THE COMMISSIONERS AND THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE WHO HAS A SAY IN HIS RELEASE.

PUT MANUAL C. CASS, JR. ON YOUR INDIVIDUAL AND CHURCH PRAYER LISTS. PRAY SPECIFICALLY FOR GOD'S MERCY TO FLOW THROUGH THE PAROLE BOARD MEMBERS TO MANUAL AND THAT HE WILL BE RELEASED INTO OUR MIDST IN AUGUST 2006. MANUAL HAS HAD STRONG FAMILY SUPPORT DURING THE COURSE OF HIS INCARCERATION AND HAS GREAT PLANS FOR A LIFE AFTER PRISON.

YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO WRITE LETTERS TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE ADDRESSED TO MR. RICHARD SACHS, DEPTUY DISTRICT ATTORNEY AND ASK HIM TO STRONGLY CONSIDER ACCEPTING MANUAL BACK INTO OUR COUNTY ON PAROLE.

PRAY FOR HIS STRENGTH IN THE LORD AS YOU PRAY FOR HIM. I WILL PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

TOLSON

It is citizens like you who give us continued hope that we can live harmoniously within the system.

Please let me know your availability for future events as I would like to start planning early to broaden our target market and inspire greater participation from the community.

Again, thank you and God’s continued blessings upon you.

DO YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS WHEN STOPPED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT?

DO YOU KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING IN THE COMPANY OF A KNOWN FELON?

DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU CAN'T GET PICKED ON A JURY IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY?

If you answered NO to any of these questions you need to attend the TOWNHALL MEETING at BAYVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH, 6126 BENSON AVENUE, SAN DIEGO ON MARCH 21, 2006 AT 7 - 9 PM.
